All good things must come to an end. It always feels like summer sped by when it is waning and the nights start to get cool. Personally, September is my favorite month. Farm work starts to become more routine and less weather dependent. The grass tends to grow faster as the temperature cools (if we'd only get some rain) and all and all that means the cows and I are happier. It is as easy to miss the allure of summer nights as the light leaves us as it is hard to think of winter ahead. What can we do besides live in our present and enjoy it together. Come to the farm on September 17th 3-9 PM for the last Burger Night of the season! And bring all your friends. :)

Don't forget to also check out the food, wine and music event that we are hosting September 30th and October 1st! t is called Huichica East and is the Pine Plainsian version of Sonoma, CA's Huichica Music Festival at Gundlach Bundschu Winery, one of the oldest family owned wineries in the nation. It will be a delicious and drinkable music fest with an intimate vibe. Tickets are available at www.huichica.com. There are also volunteer shifts available; four hours of work gets you a weekend pass and six hours will also give you free camping.
