SALES ASSOCIATE POSITION

Location: Chaseholm Farm, Pine Plains, NY
Hours: ~20 hours/week (Wednesday: 8–4, Friday: 10–4, Saturday: 10–4)
Compensation: $18-20/hr based on experience

Chaseholm Farm is a diversified dairy and livestock farm with a community focus.  We offer fresh, sustainably grown goods through our on-site farm store, our subscription-based CSA program—HolmGoods, and wholesale accounts. We’re seeking a part-time Sales Associate who is dependable, detail-oriented, and passionate about local agriculture to support our direct-to-customer and wholesale operations.

Main Responsibilities

Farm Store & Customer Service

  • Provide friendly, knowledgeable service to farm store customers

  • Operate and update the POS system

  • Restock shelves and keep the store clean and organized

  • Receive deliveries from vendors

Deliveries

  • Pack and assist with deliveries for CSA and wholesale accounts

  • Maintain accurate delivery records and communicate any changes/issues

  • Represent the farm professionally when interfacing with customers off-site

Milk Bottling & Inventory

  • Bottle Milk in accordance with safety standards

  • Maintain accurate inventory and ensure products are properly labeled and stored

  • Monitor product quality and freshness

Desired Characteristics

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has a love of agriculture and wants to be part of the local food economy

  • Works well independently and takes initiative

  • Is detail-oriented and able to follow procedures precisely

  • Communicates clearly and professionally

  • Brings creativity to the role—whether in displays, outreach, or problem-solving

Preferred Experience

  • Food handling/food safety knowledge (ServSafe or similar a plus)

  • Retail or customer service experience, especially in food or farm settings

  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, seasonal environment

  • Ability to lift 30–40 lbs and be on your feet for extended periods

Schedule

This is a part-time position (~20 hrs/week) with a set weekly schedule:

  • Wednesday: 8 AM – 4 PM

  • Friday: 10 AM – 4 PM

  • Saturday: 10 AM – 4 PM

Some seasonal flexibility may be required.
